Damascus Highway represents fast conversions as time is very short. The
name comes from the conversion of Paul in Acts Chapter 9. But the Lord
said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my
name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I
will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts
9:15,16 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is
the Son of God. (verse 20)
Griffis. - Singer/Songwriter. Lead vocals and guitar
Griffis - Keyboard and vocals
Griffis - Percussion and Vocals
Curtis Griffis - Bass and vocals
is the songwriter of the group. Rod arranges
all the music, except the drum parts. He says Carl is on his own there.
Rod enjoys playing guitar, singing, and writing songs, as well as outdoor
activities. He is great with computers, networks, etc.. Carl says he’s a
computer Guru. Rod
is a Satellite Internet Installer.
Carl does percussion, and backup vocals. Carl and Rod go
back several years in the world of Rock N Roll, and country as a brother
teem. Rod is a great Bass player as well as lead guitar player. Together
they make a great percussion and Bass teem.
likes to cut up and be the clown of the group. He says it just comes
natural. He doesn’t even try. Carl
drives an 18 Wheeler for a living.
Curtis, is our bass player. He is the oldest brother of the three.
He is a
little more laid back. He really enjoys being a part of the band. Curtis
enjoys all kinds of outdoor activity. All us brothers do. Hunting,
fishing, camping, etc… Curtis is a Certified Medication Technician.
On keyboard and
vocals, we have Belva.(AKA Mom) She is the mother of the trying
trio. She has retired once after working in a local factory after many
years. She now works in Home Health Care part time.
boys say it was pretty fascinating watching her go from old style southern
Gospel to a Rockin Keyboardist. She’s having the time of her life, and is
very proud of her three sons.
Then there is Dad:
but certainly not least, the Hub of the family. Our dad, John. Although our dad sits
quietly in the background, he has been more than supportive. A very
inspirational tool in our lives. He doesn’t know what the words “Give Up”
mean. Although he can’t play the radio, he supports his family, and is
are the Griffis family.
