Damascus Highway!

Damascus Highway represents fast conversions as time is very short. The name comes from the conversion of Paul in Acts Chapter 9. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts 9:15,16 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. (verse 20)

Rod Griffis. - Singer/Songwriter.  Lead vocals and guitar

Belva Griffis  - Keyboard and vocals

Carl Griffis - Percussion and Vocals

Curtis Griffis - Bass and vocals

Rod is the songwriter of the group. Rod arranges all the music, except the drum parts. He says Carl is on his own there. Rod enjoys playing guitar, singing, and writing songs, as well as outdoor activities. He is great with computers, networks, etc.. Carl says he’s a computer Guru. Rod is a Satellite Internet Installer.

Carl does percussion, and backup vocals.  Carl and Rod go back several years in the world of Rock N Roll, and country as a brother teem. Rod is a great Bass player as well as lead guitar player. Together they make a great percussion and Bass teem.

Carl likes to cut up and be the clown of the group. He says it just comes natural. He doesn’t even try. Carl drives an 18 Wheeler for a living.

Curtis, is our bass player. He is the oldest brother of the three. He is a little more laid back. He really enjoys being a part of the band. Curtis enjoys all kinds of outdoor activity. All us brothers do. Hunting, fishing, camping, etc…   Curtis is a Certified Medication Technician.

On keyboard and vocals, we have Belva.(AKA Mom) She is the mother of the trying trio. She has retired once after working in a local factory after many years. She now works in Home Health Care part time.

The boys say it was pretty fascinating watching her go from old style southern Gospel to a Rockin Keyboardist. She’s having the time of her life, and is very proud of her three sons.

Then there is Dad:
Last but certainly not least, the Hub of the family. Our dad, John.  Although our dad sits quietly in the background, he has been more than supportive. A very inspirational tool in our lives. He doesn’t know what the words “Give Up” mean. Although he can’t play the radio, he supports his family, and is very proud.

We are the Griffis family.

"When I was going through the hardest times in my life, the Lord gave me a new song in my heart. It seems the words just flow when I write. I take no credit for anything I do. It is the Holy Spirit working through me. I stopped running down that lonely road, and it is my hope, that through our music, others will hear the voice of our God and Savior, and too, stop running down their lonely roads".
Rod Griffis
